Pushing the Frame: Willful Transgressions
March 8, 2026 — April 26, 2026
Chiemeka Offor is a Nigerian-American image maker based in New York City. Through vibrant, painterly colors, light, and shadow, her work celebrates the Black female figure, echoing the legacy of fellow diasporic artists. Recently, she made her directorial debut at the 31st New York African Film Festival at Lincoln Center with her experimental documentary Black Dreams. She was selected as one of Vogue’s 150 Women by Women Photographers and received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Now, she continues to build visual worlds that center care, rest, and belonging, bridging photography, film, and performance as acts of preservation and resistance.
