Ahmed Sarsour
Ahmed Sarsour is a Palestinian–Sudanese poet, cultural organizer, activist, humanitarian, and emerging documentary filmmaker. He lived in Sudan for 21 years before fleeing the war that began in April 2023, and returned to his hometown in Gaza in June 2023, where he became trapped under siege and continuous bombardment. His life and work are shaped by displacement and by carrying the lived reality of two communities affected by war, violence, and systemic dehumanization. A self-taught poet writing in English and Arabic, Ahmed uses poetry as testimony and resistance. Three of his poems were published in the anthology The Poetry of Angry Black and Brown People. His writing has also been shared across digital platforms, live readings, and community-based discussions.Pushing the Frame: Willful Transgressions
