Ashley Cervantes del Carmen (she/her) is a Bushwick born and raised first generation Mexican-American filmmaker, photographer, and mixed media artist. Her work centers Mexican immigrants’ and first generation Mexican-Americans’ experiences to explore themes of intergenerational memory, diasporic identity, cultural preservation, and love as healing in the beautiful yet chaotic streets of PueblaYork. Her debut short film, ¿Y ese milagro?, captures the feeling of memories between two siblings across Puebla and Brooklyn through hybrid narrative documentary storytelling.  Coming from intersectional communities that are underrepresented in media, she works to be a part of the growing representation that humanizes her communities.
