The Foundry, 2025

The Foundry is part of a series of images that capture moments from a transmasculine wrestling competition in Brooklyn, NY. This event served as a “gender foundry” where masculinity could be melted down and workshopped in such a way where it felt reclaimed entirely. With this exploration came humor, charm, eroticism followed by tender embraces. Recently, the collective that organized this event acknowledged that it failed to properly compensate its participants, a reminder that in some cases, visibility doesn’t always mean safety.
