Pushing the Frame: Willful Transgressions
March 8, 2026 — April 26, 2026
Yoko Hoshino (1991, Japan) is an artist whose work emerges from a personal ecosystem of memory, cultural collisions, and bodily experience. Moving fluidly between painting, installation, sculpture, and social art practice, she explores the dynamic energy between order and chaos, abstraction and representation, and structure and collapse. She constructs environments from fragmented materials—paintings, scraps, personal narratives—and reconfigures and retranslates them across dimensions, creating a continuous loop of transformation and rebirth. This method allows her to seek to liberate objects, identities, and gestures from their assigned roles—sometimes through playful recontextualization, sometimes through festive disruption. In doing so, she builds spaces where freedom, energy, and color can temporarily take over.
